Position: Suzuki Cello Instructor, String Department
Job Term: Part-time
Compensation / Pay Scale: $62 – $65 per hour, based on experience

The Pasadena Conservatory of Music (PCM) provides opportunities for students of all ages and backgrounds to study, perform, and enjoy music. Founded in 1984, PCM is a nationally-accredited community music school that offers a wide range of programs, including individual and group instrumental instruction, music appreciation courses, master classes, summer camps, workshops, and concerts. Job Description: PCM is looking for a qualified candidate to provide individual cello instruction to youth students following the PCM String department curriculum, calendar, guidelines, and policies. Young students begin by studying in accordance with the Suzuki Method and then transition to traditional methods.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Music (preferred)
- Suzuki Certification: ECC Every Child Can and Unit 1 Suzuki teacher training or higher
- At least two years of teaching experience
- Experience teaching Suzuki group classes
- Experience coaching Chamber Music groups
- Excellent Communication skills
- A demonstrable commitment and enthusiasm for teaching
- Strong pedagogical instincts
