Description:
Greenwich Suzuki Academy is seeking 1 Guitar and 1 Violin faculty member to join a tight-knit faculty of 12, and a thriving program in beautiful Greenwich, CT, only 45 minutes from Manhattan. GSA is over 20 years old and was founded on the idea that happy, fulfilled teachers create the best atmosphere for committed, excited students and families. Teachers have a lot of autonomy and we work to grow together as a team. We are looking for dynamic teachers who bring their gifts and ideas to an established, caring, supportive school environment. Tuesday and Saturday availability is valued.
Our Violin position is part-time, with potential for long-term growth if desired. We are particularly interested in a spirited teacher who excels in working with and cultivating our middle and high school community, and/or someone interested in taking on new incoming students and developing a larger studio.
Our Guitar position is part-time replacing a retiring teacher of 17 years (smaller studio), and we are looking for someone invested in nurturing our guitar community, and collaborating with our other faculty.
Greenwich, CT is a safe and gorgeous town on the border of CT and NY. GSA is easily accessed by train or car.
Applicants should submit links to video performances/playing, along with a CV or resume. Multiple references should be included. Applicants should have considerable Suzuki teacher training or have a commitment to continue their training. Advanced degrees or commensurate experience are required.
Duties:
Duties include teaching private lessons and group classes, monthly Faculty meetings, and concert/recital attendance. If a candidate has inclination or experience with leading ensembles, chamber music, SECE, or parent training classes, we would love to know about those skills as well.
Qualifications:
We will be looking for teachers that most closely align with our faculty as working together as a team is a top priority. Most of our teachers have extensive Suzuki training, advanced degrees, and many years of teaching and performing.
Salary:
Teacher life quality is a top priority for us, we are very proud to offer the highest pay rates possible. Pay is commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience. Regular pay raises are also a priority. Base pay rates begin at $70 an hour.
