Teacher Trainers are required to complete the following minimum requirements for each 5-year period:
Three (3) from Group 1, SAA Activities:
- Attend or present at an SAA Conference
- Attend or present at an SAA Leadership Retreat/Summit
- Complete the SAA Evaluation Training Course
- Participate or present at an SAA Forum or Seminar (special training or continuing education event – one day or more)
- Participate in & register a supplementary or overview unit
Three (3) from Group 2, Continuing Professional Activities:
- Teach an SAA Teacher Training Course
- Serve on the SAA Board
- Serve as a conference (area) coordinator or on another SAA committee
- Serve on a state/provincial/local chapter board or committee
- Publish compositions/arrangements/teaching materials
- Publish an article in the American Suzuki Journal (or other SAA publication), or alternate professional journal
- Attend or organize an education/musical conference, workshop, or institute
- Private applied musical study
- Master Class participation
- Solo, symphony, chamber music performances
- Six hours of Observation of lessons (another Trainer’s studio, e.g.)

Trainers may request an extension if circumstances did not allow them to complete the recommended Continuing Education Activities.
