Suzuki Music Association of California – Los Angeles Branch is home to over 120 Suzuki teachers and thousands of music students. Several of our teacher colleagues lost homes and instruments in the Eaton and Palisades fires. Their livelihoods depend on being able to teach and play, so replacement instruments are vitally important to their financial recovery. While some may have insurance coverage for replacement instruments, others may be on their own for the full or partial replacement costs. Many Suzuki students in the fire-affected areas evacuated without instruments, or lost pianos in the home fires. Replacement instruments will make it possible for them to continue their music lessons.
Caroline Salisbury, board member of SMAC and director of the LA Branch, has coordinated a fundraiser to help these colleagues from the damage. Please consider making a donation and/or sharing with your network.
