Xiaoni Shen has earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Music Education from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. She has been the active piano accompanist for several choruses and the rehearsal pianist for several musicals in Beijing. Meanwhile, she has been an assistant to the Dean and piano teacher in Beijing Contemporary Music Academy for years.

Xiaoni also graduated with Master of Music in Piano Performance and Literature from Brandon University, Manitoba, Canada. She has taught piano in Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music and has been a collaborative pianist for the Brandon University Concert Choir. Xiaoni has dedicated herself to the Suzuki method research and kept pursuing the Suzuki Piano Teacher Training studies. She is both a Suzuki piano teacher and an accompanist in the Suzuki Talent Education Program.

She was the 3rd prize winner at the 7th Piano Competition organized by Hong Kong Piano & Music Association. She also won the Award of Excellence at the 4th TOYAMA Asian Youth Piano Competition and was the 2nd prize winner of the Chinese Youth Literary Talent Piano Competition. Xiaoni was a second place winner of the 2016 American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition, College Students / Professionals category, and was invited to perform at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In 2017, she won the Canadian Music Scholarship award at the Brandon Festival of the Arts and the Peggy A. Sharpe Piano Scholarships.

Xiaoni is currently living in Montreal region in Canada and has completed the program of Graduate Diploma in Advanced Professional Studies (Doctorate Level) in collaborative piano at University of Montreal.
