Willis Koa is a teacher and performer based in East Lansing. He first began teaching in 2013 while serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee. During his time at UT, he began his training in Suzuki Method and incorporates it into his teaching methodology.

As a performer, Willis plays with the West Michigan Symphony, Lansing Symphony Orchestra and recently joined the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra as assistant principal cello. He frequently performs with other regional orchestras throughout central and west Michigan.

Willis holds a Master of Music in cello performance from University of Tennessee and Bachelor of Music in performance from Western Michigan University. He currently studies with Suren Bagratuni. His primary teachers were Wesley Baldwin and Bruce Uchimura.
