Will began his studies in music in Des Moines, Iowa at 11 years old. Will was a two year Iowa All-State musician and section principal. He was also asked to play assistant concert-master of the Buena Vista University Orchestra Festival in Los Angeles, California in 2002. Will finished out his high school years at City High School in Iowa City, whose music program has been three times recognized by the Grammy association as one of the very top high school music programs in the country. Will studied with Des Moines local violinists including Donald Sieburns, and Jim Brauninger.

Will received his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario under the tutelage of Annette-Barbara Vogel where he graduated with a B.A. in Music with honors in Violin Performance. Other teachers include Won-Bin Yim, Yehonatan Berick, Vasile Beluska, and the Corigliano Quartet, and Jupiter Quartet. While at UWO, he held various positions with the school’s symphony orchestra and opera including concert master and principal second violin.

Professionally, Will has performed in all concentrations from chamber music, to pit orchestras, community and symphony orchestras. They include: Jersey Productions (concertmaster) Seven Hills Symphonietta (concertmaster), Cleremont Philharmonic, International Symphony Orchestra, Middletown Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra and Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony. Will is currently a substitute violinist with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra and Des Moines Symphony Orchestra. Will has full tenure as a section violinist with the Quad Cities Symphony. Will has given solo recitals in both Des Moines and the Quad Cities.

As a music educator, Will has had over 40 students ranging from young children to adults. He teaches in the Des Moines and the Quad Cities. As well as individual privates lessons, Will has worked closely with local school districts to encourage and coach young chamber music groups. As an extension of his passion for education, Will has created Winspiration Studio which hopes to encourage and inspire young learners by removing barriers to their growth, including reduced lesson fees and loaning out quality instruments to inspired up-and-coming musicians. Will restored and loaned out his first instrument at the beginning of 2019.
