Valerie has been a member of the Loudoun Symphony since 1997, and has served as LSO venue coordinator since 2007. She is also a member of the Washington DC Temple Orchestra, and was appointed principal cellist in 2010.
Valerie began her cello studies with David Freed (principal cellist of the Utah Symphony), and later studied with Elizabeth Kellogg (founding member of the Loudoun Symphony), John Magee (solista for the Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid) and Robert Battey. Valerie maintains a thriving private cello studio in her home in Leesburg , teaching both traditional and Suzuki methods. She and her husband are the proud parents of five children and twelve grandchildren! Suzuki-trained to Book 4, she enjoys sharing Suzuki cello fun with Loudoun County!
