Tina Zhang has been a member of the second violin section with the Houston Symphony since 2011. Prior to joining the orchestra, she studied at Rice University with Cho-Liang Lin. She received her bachelor’s degree in both music and mathematics at Bard College.

Tina has placed in numerous competitions, such as the Canadian Music Competition, the New World Philharmonic Orchestra Competition, the Montreal Classical Music Festival, the Holland America Music Society Competition. She has also participated in numerous festivals in the USA, Japan, and Canada. She has had the opportunity of collaborating with artists such as Ida Kavafian, James Dunham, Norman Fischer, and Peter Wiley, during chamber music performances.

In her spare time Tina enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Currently offers pretwinkle classes for preschoolers in mandarin on Friday afternoon. Masks required. Please contact for more info
