Tom was a member of the piano faculty at the Suzuki Institute of Dallas for six years where he taught piano lessons and piano group classes to students off all ages.  He is currently finishing his dissertation on the legacy of Suzuki piano teacher Mary Craig Powell for his Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma.

No stranger to the mountains of Colorado, Tom holds a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Northern Colorado.  Prior to that, he lived in Telluride where he performed and served on the board of directors for the Telluride Chamber Music Festival.  While in Telluride, Tom also volunteered for local radio station KOTO-FM as co-host of the Sunday evening classical music program.

Tom has been a competition adjudicator and guest master class teacher in Colorado, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Texas, and California where he serves on the piano faculty of the Los Angeles Suzuki Institute every summer.  He has also presented at several state and national music conferences.

Tom has been fortunate to receive his Suzuki training from both Mary Craig Powell and Fay Adams.  Through their mentorship, Tom has found a way of working with students that achieves high standards by developing each student to their fullest potential.
