Thalita Magalhaes

Violin Teacher

Thalita Magalhaes

With over two decades of dedicated experience as a violin teacher, I am passionate about nurturing musical talent and fostering a love for music education. I hold a degree in Teaching Music (BTchg) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO).

My musical journey began at the age of 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I embraced the piano, violin, recorder, and choral singing in my religious community. As an orchestral musician, I joined several orchestras in Brazil such as the Petropolis Philharmonic Orchestra and the UNIRIO Chamber Orchestra. As a versatile musician, I recorded with popular Brazilian artists, including appearances on Rede Globo TV, the Brazilian leading television station. As an advocate for music education, I firmly believe in the potential of every student to develop their musical abilities. To support this, I have been organizing recitals, masterclasses, meetings, exchanges, and workshops in schools and private courses. My specialties include teaching violin, music education and chamber music.

Thalita Magalhaes, born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), has fallen in love with music since her childhood in the church. Shortly, she lived the music in the choirs and theatrical practices of her religious community. Her first instruments were the recorder and the piano, but soon she was enchanted by the violin, choosing it as her main instrument. Of her passion for teaching, she devoted herself to teaching for more than 17 years. She was accomplished in the Suzuki Violin Teacher Training certificates and is a member of the Suzuki American Association. She graduated in Teaching Music (BTchg) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2003. Besides the practice in the classroom, she also improved in her instrument, concluding in 2008 the course of Bachelor in Violin by the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO).

Her passion as a music educator led her to promote recitals, master classes, meeting, exchanges and wokshops in several schools, private courses and Conservatory of Music. She has teaching violin and musical education, as well as preparing students to university exams.
