Tatiana is a classically trained cellist with more than 20 years of teaching experience using the Suzuki and traditional cello methods. Tatiana is strongly skilled teaching cello to young children. Students are aged from 3 years old and up. She is a Suzuki Cello certified teacher in Books I-V.

Tatiana holds a master degree in Music Therapy and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Both from Loyola University New Orleans. she obtained a BM in Cello Performance from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music (San Juan, PR), and is a licensed clinical psychologist in her home country, Colombia; graduated from the Universidad Santo Tomas (Bogotá, Colombia). Tatiana studied cello for many years at the National University of Colombia Conservatory of Music in Bogotá, Colombia.

Tatiana has taught cello privately in Bogota Colombia, the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music Preparatory School, the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, the “New Orleans String Project”, the Greater New Orleans (GNO) Suzuki Forum school, “2011 Greater New Orleans Suzuki Summer Camp”, “2014 Greater New Orleans Suzuki Summer Music Workshop”, and the Preparatory School of Loyola University New Orleans. Tatiana was the artistic director of the GNO Suzuki Forum from 2014 through 2017.

Her students continue obtaining outstanding recognition in local and state competitions and are members of local youth and school orchestra programs. Some of them have been invited to participate in renowned summer camps in NYC, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, and London.

Tatiana is a devoted educator and a passionate instrumentalist. Her teaching philosophy is based on assessing and understanding the learning process of each of her students, while taking into account their goals with their cello playing and music interests.

Tatiana is an active instrumentalist in the New Orleans area, participating in several ensembles and as a solo player. Currently, Tatiana offers cello lessons at her private studio and also serves the needs of children and teens who have experienced trauma and grief by providing music therapy, play therapy and mental health counseling.
