Mrs. Tamara Theodosis
Violin Teacher
Tamara Theodosis Bennett is accepting students ages 4 and older. In-person lessons are available in the Villebois neighborhood of Wilsonville, OR.
Tamara received her Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Oregon and her Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She also did graduate work in violin performance and Suzuki Pedagogy at The Hartt School. Tamara’s principle violin teachers were Kathryn Lucktenberg, Won-Bin Yim, and Katie Lansdale.
Tamara teachers students ages 4 and olde, beginners to pre-college level. She took long-term violin training with Shelley Rich, Suzuki violin training in Books 1-8 with Teri Einfeldt, Books 1-10 with Martha Shackford, and short-term training with Ed Sprunger, Louise Scott, Judy Bossuat and Cathryn Lee. Tamara has taught at the University of Cincinnati Preparatory Department, the Wyoming Center for the Arts, University of Connecticut Community School of the Arts, and the University of Oregon Suzuki Strings Program. She has taught at masterclasses, workshops, and institutes in Ohio, Connecticut, and at the Northwest Suzuki Institute.
A seasoned performer, Tamara has been a member of orchestras in Cincinnati, Connecticut, and Portland, and also was a participant in the Aspen Music Festival and the Opera Theater of Lucca. She is active in the Suzuki community and is co-director of the Oregon Suzuki Association.
Tamara is also a Suzuki cello mom and currently resides in just south of Portland in Wilsonville with her family and their beloved Australian Labradoodles.
