Mrs. Sydney P. Howell

Sydney Howell has been performing and teaching harp for 40 years. She grew up in Ft. Worth and has degrees from North Texas University and The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She was under contract with the Fort Worth Symphony for 20 years and taught harp at Texas Christian University for 29 years. She maintains a Suzuki Harp studio at her home studio in Parker County and one in Ft. Worth, TX. She has taught at several summer harp camps including Suzuki Institutes in Texas, Wisconsn and Utah. Her students are in demand as soloists as well as in ensemble. She performs with Octavia (an eight-harp ensemble) as well as many instrumental ensembles in the metroplex. She is available for weddings, funerals, receptions or special programs including a lecture demonstration of the harp. Sydney is active in the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and was featured in the May 2006. issue of PARKER COUNTY TODAY magazine.
