Susanne Garber currently serves as Director of the Michigan State University Community Music School Suzuki Program. Susanne has been a faculty member at the Blue Lake Suzuki Family Camp since 1994 and the Central Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute since 1993. As a performer, she is a violinist in The Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra. She is a currently a member and co-founder of the klezmer band, Heartland Klezmorim. Dr. Garber was formerly Adjunct Professor of Violin and Viola at Albion College from 1997—2006. She was the Director of the Okemos/East Lansing Suzuki Workshop from 2003—2005. Ms. Garber was previously on the faculty of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Community Music School as well as the Principal Second Violinist in the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. She has served on the board of the Michigan American String Teachers Association. Her degrees include Doctor of Musical Arts, Michigan State University (1997); Master of Music, Florida State University (1989); and Bachelor of Music, Boston University (1986). She currently resides in East Lansing with her husband, David, a freelance trumpet teacher and performer.
