A Life Member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, Steven Palincsar is a graduate of The School for Strings’ Two-Year Suzuki Violin Teacher Training Program in New York under Louise Behrend, and is a Registered Suzuki Violin Teacher through Level Eight. He taught both private violin lessons and co-taught two separate group classes at The School for Strings Start-Up Program for minority and underprivileged children. In addition to Louise Behrend, he studied Suzuki violin pedagogy with Ecaterina Gerson, Edward Kreitman, and Doris Preucil.

A native Chicagoan, he had his first piano lessons at age seven and began violin studies shortly thereafter, making his debut at the age of twelve. Ultimately, he studied at some of America’s finest music schools, including the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and The Juilliard School, as well as at the Meadowmount School of Music in upstate New York. Charles Avsharian, James Buswell, Dorothy DeLay, and Josef Gingold are among his mentors. He performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe, appearing both in concert and on radio. In the year 2000, he founded the Steven Palincsar Violin Studio, where he has taught violin ever since. His students have performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
