Shawna Dose is a violinist and singer-songwriter originally from the Sioux City, Iowa area, now residing in Cleveland, Tennessee. A Suzuki student herself, she has been teaching since 2016. Teaching has enabled her to interact with and inspire the lives of many children and adults, something she finds immensely gratifying and enjoyable. One aspect she excels in as a teacher is building character within her students. Traits such as as diligence, self-expression, confidence, humility, and poise are values she seeks to instill in her studio, along with appreciation of beauty and art as something that elevates humanity. For her, music is something that God has used to open many doors of opportunity, social interaction and life-enriching experiences. She provides community-building, group and performance opportunities with this future in mind.

Shawna has been blessed to study with truly phenomenal teachers, including Mrs. Jan Klein, Dr. Dan Auerbach, Mr. Bozhidar Shopov, and Dr. Eunho Kim. In addition to informal teaching experiences with many mentors, she became a String Sprouts/Growing Roots violin teacher through Ruth Meitz and was employed by the Omaha Conservatory of Music in 2019-2020. In 2021, Shawna studied with Edward Kreitman, a profoundly impactful experience, and with great joy became an officially trained Suzuki teacher! Shortly afterwards, she moved to Cleveland, Tennessee and started Bluebird Violin Studio.

Aside from teaching, Shawna performs as a violinist and as a singer-songwriter. You can find her music at
