Viola, Violin Teacher
Sarah Cote teaches viola, violin, and string pedagogy at Belmont University. In addition to her work with college students, she teaches Suzuki lessons through the Belmont Academy.
She studied string pedagogy with Carol Dallinger at University of Evansville and with Mimi Zweig at Indiana University. Ms. Cote has had Suzuki training with Mark Mutter, Anne Montzka-Smelser, and Ronda Cole. Her degrees are in violin performance from Indiana University and in viola performance, also from Indiana.
Ms. Cote has maintained an active private studio since 1986.
Sarah Cote was a member of the San Antonio Symphony for 16 years. During that time, she taught inner city middle school students as part of the Symphony’s Music Advancement Program. She also served on the steering committee for the program.
In addition, Ms. Cote recently taught string pedagogy to teachers in Costa Rica Sinem program.
Sarah Cote performs with the Belmont Camerata, Music City Baroque and The Eastern Music Festival.
