Sarah Abbott Boerema is a highly accomplished violinist who has garnered extensive performance experience in the United States and Europe. Her academic qualifications are noteworthy, having obtained a Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University, as well as graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings.

Dr. Boerema has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed classical artists such as Lynn Harrell, Robert McDuffie, Gil Shaham, and Stefan Jackiw. Additionally, she has been invited to perform with prominent pop artists such as Michael Buble, the Osmonds, and most recently with The Killers on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She maintains an active performance schedule with the Grand Rapids Symphony.

With regard to her Suzuki training, Dr. Boerema received instruction from Mr. Mark Mutter at the University of Michigan. Her pedagogical approach is tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of her students, with a focus on instilling a love for music and guiding them towards realizing their full potential. Dr. Boerema’s research interests center on the discovery and promotion of works by women composers. Her forthcoming publication with Hildegard Publishing Company features Adolpha La Beau’s Violin Sonata, alongside a corresponding recording.
