Sally YIK graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor degree of Music (Pedagogy Stream), then obtained her Master degree in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy in Roosevelt University. She participated in orchestral and ensemble master-classes coached by world-class musicians which include Paul Nadler, members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and faculties from Mussorgsky Conservatory of Music. She studied with celebrated violin educators, which includes Ka-Ming Ng, Aimee Sung, and Minghuan Xu. She is pursuing her Master’s degree in Music Education at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Yik is the recipient of numerous awards, including the second runner-up of the 64th Hong Kong School Music Festival and Award of Outstanding Orchestral Member of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has performed on concert stages worldwide as an orchestral player, including Australia, China, Russia and the United States. She was appointed to be the second violin principal of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra (HKYSO) during the year of 2015-17 and participated in the Europe-Asia International Music Festival in 2015 with HKYSO.

Yik has 8 years of experience teaching violin and music theory of various levels. Her students are diverse in ages and cultures. She offers both online and in-person lessons. She is open to new ideas and loves to encourage exploration in students’ learning journey. She always believes there is no inability but solutions, hence EVERY CHILD / HUMAN-BEING CAN.
