Dr. Ryan Beauchamp is an accomplished music educator and arts leader passionate about engaging with communities through music. As the Suzuki Strings Director at the Bermuda School of Music, he maintains a thriving studio of violin and viola students, leads ensembles and group classes, and oversees the programming for Suzuki Strings classes at Victor Scott and Purvis Primary Schools and Warwick Academy. Prior to his appointment in Bermuda, Dr. Beauchamp held posts at the University of Illinois Music Academy, Millikin University, and Renaissance Arts Academy.

Currently serving as Principal Violist of the Bermuda Philharmonic Society, Dr. Beauchamp frequently appears with various groups on the island. He has previously performed with ensembles such as Sinfonia da Camera, Camerata Illinois, and the Baroque Artist of Champaign. Past engagements include the Krannert Art Museum Chamber Music Series, Green Mountain and Texas Music Festivals, and the Innsbrook Institute and Academy.

Dr. Beauchamp holds a Bachelor of Music degree from East Carolina University, where he obtained Suzuki training in Violin Units 1-10, a Master of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His doctoral dissertation examined arts entrepreneurship and professional development education for graduate music students at Research 1 universities. Principal mentors include Joanne Bath, Melissa Reardon, Ara Gregorian, Masumi Rostad, and Liz Freivogel, in addition to chamber music studies with members of the Pacifica and Jupiter String Quartets.
