Ruth (Sherwood) Sadasivan attended Lawrence University Conservatory of Music (WI), where she received a BMus degree in music education. She continued her studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City Conservatory of Music, earning a MMus in violin performance. She has nearly completed her DMA in violin performance. While working on her master’s degree she was a member of the Ford Foundation String Quartet. She has played in the Grand Rapids Symphony and the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra.
In addition to teaching at her studio, Heartland School of Violin/Viola, Ruth enjoys being a free lance performer. She has taught at Suzuki Institutes, but especially enjoyed attending in the role of parent for her two children.

“I was once asked in an interview if I got bored teaching the same song, ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, day after day. After thinking for a moment I realized that this is a most interesting and rewarding job… because no two Twinkle players are ever alike.”
