At a very young age I was completely mesmerized by our church pianist and violinist. As I watched their fingers fly over their instruments, I knew I wanted to do just that someday! I began classical music piano training at age 4, and a year later started Suzuki violin lessons. Looking back, the Lord has given me several opportunities to travel 40 plus states accompanying college tour groups, studying under several professional musicians, and graduating college in May 2005 with degrees in both Elementary Education and Sacred Music.

I currently teach music full-time at Bridgeport Baptist Academy. Our school’s motto is to Train Servants of Jesus Christ. Music plays a huge part in our student’s education. Through this, I have had the opportunity to teach at several different Elementary and High School levels. I direct our schools annual Elementary Fine Arts Festival, which our school hosts every spring for Christian Schools in the area. I also keep very busy with Bands, Elementary choir, Handbells, Orchestra, and teaching private music lessons during the school day.

I have been with the Saginaw Strings, formerly Beginning Strings (founded by Lois Wilkins), since day one in 2006. It is wonderful to see how many children have had the opportunity to try a string instrument in these past years. 80+ students come to us every Saturday at different times and we are able to teach them something new. The Suzuki-based program also branches throughout the week into various 4-8 week elementary After-School programs. I have had the opportunity to teach in these programs as well.

On Sunday afternoons, a highlight of the week is to work as Violin Specialist and Administrator for the Saginaw Bay Youth Orchestra. It’s fun watching these extremely talented musicians from the Great Lakes Bay Region, be pushed to the next level. Students are given very difficult music, and by the end of the 8-week term, they succeed in performing these pieces at concerts.

In 2021, I met and married the love of my life, Abraham Olorunlowo. He serves as an Assistant Pastor at First Baptist Church. We enjoy working together at various events (in and outside of church) combining our talents, Music & Media. We truly believe Only God brought us together and we are excited to see what the future holds.

In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dogs, Max & Ollie, gardening, decorating cakes, and playing the piano and violin at fine dining establishments. I am also extremely active in the music program at First Baptist Church of Bridgeport.

I feel very blessed in my life. To God be all the Glory.
