Mr. Roger Vasquez, Jr

I serve as the Associate Orchestra Director of Fort Settlement Middle School, and work alongside Mrs. Angela Peugnet. I will be teaching our Beginner Bass, Harp, and Cello students, the Camerata Orchestra class, and together with Mrs. Peugnet, co-teach the Philharmonic, Sinfonia, and Chamber ensembles. My professional affiliations include memberships with Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association.

Before joining the faculty of Fort Settlement, I earned my Bachelor of Music at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. While there, my primary studies were done under the guidance and teachings of Dennis Whittaker (HGO Principal Bass, former HBO Principal Bass). My collegiate career allowed me to perform with the Moores School Symphony Orchestra, Opera, and Ballet Orchestras. While at UH, I also had the opportunity to perform with our symphony at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL and at the Texas Music Educators Assosiation Convention in San Antonio, TX.

When not teaching or playing an instrument, I really enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, cooking and trying new food, and spending time with my family and friends.
