Rachel has been playing music since she was old enough to walk. She started on piano and flute, then picked up the violin and viola. She has studied string music performance at the University of Utah and privately with such teachers as: Jane Mensel, Karen Child, Karen Bergeson, Roberta Zalkind, and Julie Edwards. She is a member of the Utah Philharmonia Orchestra and in the last 10 years has performed with such groups as the Cathedral of the Madeleine Choir and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She also has a passion for chamber music and composing/arranging music. She has had compositions performed by the Utah Jubilate Choir. Rachel teaches beginners through early advanced students in the Suzuki method for both viola and violin, and takes on students ages 3-18. She strives to instill in all her students a love and appreciation for music.
