Phil Rumbley currently serves as a music educator at the Caldwell Elementary Arts Academy in Tyler and was previously orchestra director at Dogan Middle School and band director at Grace Community School. Rumbley is an adjunct faculty member at Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas a Tyler as bass professor, and has recently had his music published by the Texas Jazz Educators Association for all state audition material. As a member of the Green Acres Celebration Orchestra, Longview Symphonic Band and the Jazz Connection, Rumbley has appeared on several recordings with the East Texas Jazz Orchestra, Tom Houston Orchestra, and has served as music coordinator for the Tyler Rose Festival. Phil has been active with several music camps throughout the area and also received the Noted Circle award from the Tyler Youth Orchestra. With over twenty-five years teaching experience, performances with the Tyler Civic Theater and Texas Shakespeare Festival, Rumbley received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Dallas and his masters degree in music education from Tarelton State University. Phil resides in Tyler with his awesome wife Karen and loving son Scotty.
