Olivia Marten fell in love with the violin when she started taking Suzuki violin lessons at age 5. She studied Violin Performance at the University of Houston and graduated from the University of Missouri (KC) with degrees in Liberal Arts and History.

As a performer, Olivia has served as a member of the American Youth Symphony, Brevard Music Center Orchestra, Rocky Mountain Chamber Orchestra, Moores School Symphony Orchestra and concertmaster of the Wichita Youth Symphony for 3 consecutive years. She has studied with Dana DeKalb, Valerie Sullivan, Tiberius Klausner, Andrej Grabiec and Kirstin Yon.

Olivia completed her Suzuki violin teaching training under the mentorship of Beth Titterington and is registered in Every Child Can! and Suzuki Violin Books 1 and 2. She began assisting with Suzuki group classes at the DeKalb Suzuki School of Violin in Wichita, Kansas, and has been on violin faculty at Camp Encore/Coda in Sweden, Maine, and In The Plains Chamber Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas. She now has a private teaching studio at her home in Cincinnati, Ohio.

When Olivia is not performing, teaching or practicing, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Philip (violinist with the CSO), and their goldendoodle, Chloe.
