Nicole Macias started out as a 3 year old Suzuki Student, studying with Hiroko Primrose, and graduated the Suzuki program by age 11.  At the suggestion of her school orchestra teacher, she began teaching as a high school freshman, fell in love with it, and has been teaching ever since.

She graduated from the University of Utah in 1999, and is Certified in Suzuki Violin Instruction by the Suzuki Association of the Americas. In 2007 she was invited to participate in the Starling- Delay Symposium on Violin Studies at The Juilliard School in New York City. In 2013, Nicole was awarded the Suzuki Certificate of Achievement, which recognizes committed excellence in Suzuki Pedagogy.

Currently Nicole owns and maintains Sunrise Suzuki Strings, a private Suzuki Violin & Viola studio. She is also on the board of the International Suzuki String Institute, teaches for a Title One Music Program in a public elementary school, and, because she wasn’t busy enough, became one of the Directors of Harmony Suzuki Strings, a Utah County based traveling performance group.  Nicole is married to Robert Macias, and they have five children, three of which still live at home, where someone is playing the violin, piano, or discussing Star Wars nearly all the time.
