Known for being a “communicative player with natural musicality,” Nick Cutroneo is an up and coming classical guitarist of the new generation. A passionate teacher, Mr. Cutroneo has successfully guided students interested in pursuing music in college. His students have been accepted to the New England Conservatory, Ithaca College, The Hartt School of Music, The Butler School of Music at The Univeristy of Texas at Austin, and The University of New Haven.

Mr. Cutroneo earned his Masters and Bachelors degrees from the Hartt School of Music studying with Richard Provost. During his studies as a masters students, Mr. Cutroneo completed the Long Term Suzuki Pedagogy program studying with David Madsen and being trained from Pre-Twinkle through Book 8 of the Suzuki Method. He is the first person in the country to hold a degree in Classical Guitar Performance with an emphasis in Suzuki Guitar Pedagogy.

Mr. Cutroneo has given presentations regarding the Suzuki Method. In 2010 he presented The Development of Contrapuntal Music in the Suzuki Repertoire. In 2014 Mr. Cutroneo was invited to give a Suzuki Presentation/Play-Down at the 50th Anniversary of the Hartt School’s Guitar Department Celebration Weekend as well as presented Essential Free Stroke Development with teacher-trainer MaryLou Roberts at the SAA’s 16th Conference.

The Nick Cutroneo Guitar Studio provides Suzuki guitar instruction to children ages 3 and up. NCGS students participate in yearly recitals, outreach performances within the community as well as regular group classes.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Cutroneo is an active soloist and chamber musician and has performed extensively throughout the United State and Italy. Early 2015 will see the release of his debut CD.
