Nancy Terlaak Poot received her B.M. in Music Education from SUC Potsdam, Crane School of Music, studying viola with Nardo Poy, and her M.M. in Music Education from the College of St. Rose, studying viola with Nathan Godschalk. She has been a member of the Albany, Schenectady and Bucks County Symphonies and has performed with the Trenton and Allentown Symphonies as well as the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra. She is an avid chamber music player.

Nancy has received ten units of study registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas teacher-training program. She has done extensive pedagogy study at Indiana University with Mimi Zweig, Rebecca Henry, Brenda Brenner, Jim Przygocki and Sherri Sinift as well as five years of pedagogy with Lee Snyder. She has taught at Suzuki Workshops on the East Coast, Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, and Lehigh University. She is founder and director of the Lehigh Valley Suzuki Strings Workshop at Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa. She has a private studio in Coopersburg, Pa. and is on the faculty at Moravian College as well as the Community Music Institute.
