NOTEWORTHY SUZUKI MUSIC owner and teacher who enjoys teaching, encouraging students to learn and watching them get excited about each step while playing music together in the process!
Pre-college piano and violin student, SC All-State orchestras. Clemson Univ. BA, MEd in Elementary Education, minor in music. Post-graduate studies include various music courses. Previous elementary grade school teacher and music teacher. Third-generation piano teacher for over 45 years, Suzuki teacher for 35+ years, previous children’s choir director and accompanist for over 10 years, former church pianist, and a member of choirs since childhood. Violinist with the Gaston String Orchestra since 2013 and Lake Norman Philharmonic in 2019 for several years.

Currently accepting Suzuki piano students in my home studio with two pianos, located in SE Charlotte in the Lansdowne subdivision. Classes in Suzuki Early Childhood Education “Suzuki Babies and Toddlers” ages 0-3 offered in Charlotte area.

All Suzuki Piano, Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE), and Music Mind Games (2018) training courses are registered with the SAA. 2008 SAA Conference Assistant Hospitality Chairman, author of SAA Journal article on SECE-Spring 2008 issue. Among the first group of Suzuki ECE teacher trainees in North America to complete all levels of training in 2009. Clinician for Suzuki School of the Arts, NC Suzuki Association state-wide play-ins and workshops, organizer of NC Suzuki teachers’ retreats and SECE teacher training, promoter/presenter of the Suzuki ECE program in NC and nearby states, contributor to numerous NCSA archived newsletters, and a Past-President of NC Suzuki Assn. instrumental in leading the process to become a chapter affiliate with SAA. www.ncsuzukiassociation.org

Member of various local, state and national music organizations, serving on boards, committees, adjudicator and chairman in area Federation festivals, volunteer in various capacities for student music competitions and in the community. State-level superior student winners in NCMTA festivals. Coordinator of one of 9 local Federation Festival Day locations, and the Charlotte District NCFMC Gold Cup Chairman for over 15 years.

Married with 3 married sons who studied Suzuki piano, a homeschool parent for 14 years, and grandmother of 9 who have been part of my weekly Suzuki ECE classes! Enjoy reading, learning, traveling, genealogy, singing, photography, hospitality and crafts.

Grateful to God for many wonderful students and opportunities, blessed with a close and caring Christian family, and thankful for the health and blessings to enjoy the life God has given me!
