Nadine Shank, Professor of Piano and Collaborative Piano at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, is Principal Pianist with the Springfield (MA) Symphony. She made her concert debut at age fifteen, performing the Prokofiev Concerto No. 1 with the World Youth Orchestra, Interlochen MI. Other awards include, MTNA, Mason and Hamlin, National Federation of Music Clubs, Van Cliburn Award (Interlochen), Oberlin Conservatory’s Rudolph Serkin and Pi Kappa Lambda Piano Prizes and Indiana University’s Concerto Competition. She has performed in festivals in England, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Canada, The Netherlands, and at the Phillips Collection, Weill Hall, Symphony Space, Merkin Hall, 92 Street Y, Edinburgh Fringe, Blossom, Monadnack Music, Mohawk Trail Festivals, and with the Lark String Quartet. She soloed with the West Point Band in “Rhapsody in Blue” and recently, the Beethoven Choral Fantasy with the Springfield Sympphony Orchestra (MA). Ms. Shank has recorded 17 CDs, appearing on the CRI, Gaspari, MRS, New World, Spectrum, YAL (“Nadine Shank Performs Sonata No. 2 by Yusef Lateef) labels, and “Playback” with members of the West Point Military Band.  Her Play-Alongs for Saxophone and Clarinet (Open Loop) have been used by educators and students for several decades. Nadine maintains a private piano studio, teaching students of all ages. She has been teaching in the Suzuki method since 2013 and is a certified Suzuki teacher. Nadine is the Music Director and Organist at Christ United Methodist Church in Northampton MA and along with her music, teaches Group Fitness and Spinning classes.
