Hi there, My name is Moriah Swindell and I am a Suzuki violin teacher. I started playing the violin when I was 9 years old in my school orchestra and shortly after started taking Suzuki lessons. I went on to study with her for 9 years. I studied with my second teacher for about a year to prepare for college auditions. She also gave me the opportunity to teach lessons to my first student by having me teach a student from her orchestra class. I really value the time that I spent with both of these teachers.

I went on to earn a degree in Music Education from Campbell University. During that time, I taught private violin lessons with the Dunn School of Music and started my journey as a Suzuki teacher. I then moved back to hometown of Greenville, NC and earned a Masters degree from East Carolina University in Music Performance with a concentration on Suzuki Pedagogy. I earned Suzuki certification for all 10 violin books through this program. This experience not only honed my violin performance skills, but gave me a lot of opportunities to teach private lessons as well as group classes and improve my skills as a teacher.

Since earning my Masters, I have moved to the Washington D.C. area and am currently teaching for Levine Music in the Suzuki Strings department.

If you are looking for a teacher, please feel free to contact me via email ([javascript protected email address]) or my cell phone (252-824-4192). Happy playing and learning!
