Michelle Hatcher, violist and String Specialist, resides in Caldwell, NJ. She holds her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Manhattan School Of Music. She received her Suzuki Teacher Certification at the School for Strings in NY under Louise Behrend in 1990. She presently has a private studio in NJ.

Ms. Hatcher performed as a freelance musician around the tri-state area. She has also been a faculty member of the St. Hilda’s and St. Hugh’s School, Randolph Public Schools, Rutgers Preparatory School (founder of the string program), Newark Public Schools, and the South Orange/Maplewood School District. She conducts the NJYS Primo and Concertino Strings as well as the NJ Intergenerational Outreach Ensemble. She was also the Artistic Director of NJ Symphony Orchestra CHAMPS, an El Sistema inspired program. She received the NJSO Samuel Antek Award.

Freelancing with the Amaryllis Ensemble, a group she co-founded with life-long musician friends, she arranges and performs all styles of music. Ms. Hatcher also directs week long summer intensive chamber camps in her home—chamber, Viola Power, and Jazz Improv.
