Education: BM in Flute Performance, Middle Tennessee State University and Graduate studies, Florida State University
Studied with Jane Kirchner, Ann Richards, Deborah Kemper, Charles Delaney, Maxence Larrieu; masterclass participation with James Galway, Trevor Wye, Doriot Anthony Dwyer. Symphonic performances include Ibert Concerto, Hanson Serenade, Mozart Concerto in Dmaj, Chaminade Concertino.
Teaching Experience: Over 30 years working with students of all ages including lessons, flute camps, flute choirs, and small ensembles. Many students have excelled with All-State auditions, All-District Band auditions, Youth Symphony auditions, Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts auditions, Solo and Ensemble Festivals, and National Flute Association competitions. I have recently had students winning major competitions at local colleges and students attending summer programs such as The Consummate Flutist at Carnegie Mellon University and Interlochen. Numerous students have received major college scholarship awards to continue their flute studies—this is a prominent goal of my lesson program.
