Dr. Michael Campbell
Michael Campbell is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Amherst College and holds a doctorate in piano from Peabody Conservatory, where he studied with Leon Fleisher. He is Professor Emeritus of Piano at Western Illinois University, where he taught for over twenty years. For several years, he was clinician for G. Henle USA; in this capacity, he presented at numerous state and national conventions. He is also the author of three widely-used college textbooks, for courses in popular music, rock music, and music appreciation, and currently teaches online for Arizona State University. He has taught piano using the Suzuki method since 1990, and is a lifetime member of the SAA. Since 2004, he has maintained a studio in Westerly, RI, and currently has fully online students in Houston, Miami, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
