Meredith Clark is a San Francisco-based harpist whose varied musical interests have led her to play solo, chamber and orchestral music around the globe. Meredith is the Principal Harpist of the Oakland Symphony and a member of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. In addition to these groups, she is a highly sought-after recording artist and has performed extensively with the San Francisco Symphony, including playing Guest Principal for concerts at Carnegie Hall.

Committed to activism and advocacy, Meredith is passionate about expanding the way classical music is performed and viewed. Music is an essential and humanizing art form. Classical music needs to champion the voices of people whom it has marginalized. Playing contemporary music, commissioning works by composers from minority groups, and engaging with audiences from all backgrounds are ways that Meredith uses music to build community and make the world a better place. A co-founder of the organization Boundless Musician, Meredith teaches and works with musicians to foster a warm musical community of musicians who bring their whole, complete selves into their art.

Meredith has performed as soloist with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Lake Tahoe Summerfest, the Cleveland Institute of Music and as a featured soloist in Leipzig’s famed Gewandhaus. She looks forward to a time when we can all enjoy music together again.

In her time not spent performing, Meredith enjoys sharing her love of the harp with students young and old and brings considerable expertise in teaching and coaching. Meredith earned harp performance degrees from The Oberlin Conservatory and The Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under Yolanda Kondonassis.
