Melissa Zindel is a collaborative pianist, music coach, and registered Suzuki piano teacher based in Chicago.

A former Suzuki student, Melissa earned her B.M. degree in keyboard performance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she studied with Linda Perry. She completed her M.M. degree in accompanying and chamber music at the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston with Timothy Hester. She has performed internationally with the Chicago Consort and Allegro!!! music ensembles, and as a recitalist with many artists, including Julie Albers, Katharine Gowers, Helen Kim and Allegra Wermuth. Melissa has also worked as a vocal coach and accompanist at Elmhurst College, Georgia College and State University, University of Central Arkansas, Wildwood Opera, and Opera in the Ozarks.

Melissa is deeply committed to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy, and has studied Suzuki pedagogy with Yasuko Joichi, Fay Adams, Nightingale Chen, Caroline Fraser and Ed Kreitman. As faculty, she has also coached and performed with students at many Suzuki programs, including the Preludio Violin Program at Ithaca College, SIUE Suzuki, University of Houston Suzuki, Greenbriar Suzuki, the Colorado Suzuki Institute, the American Suzuki Institute, Temple Dinsley Summer School, and the Suzuki Association of the Americas conferences.

Melissa currently teaches at DePaul University CMD and her private studio in the near west suburbs.
