Melissa Gillette has been teaching the violin and viola to students of all ages for over thirty five years. She received both a Bachelor and Master of Music in performance from Arizona State University and studied under Frank Spinosa and Marla Mutschler. Her Suzuki training includes courses with Martha Shackford, Edward Kreitman, Mark Mutter, Joanne Melvin, Katherine Wood, Ann Montzka-Smelser, Nancy Jackson, and Kirsten Marshall. She is a member of the American String Teachers Association and the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She maintains a thriving studio in Fort Dodge, Iowa. As a violinist, Melissa has participated in various independently contracted performances in Arizona, North Carolina, and Iowa, as well as been a member of numerous orchestras including the Sun City Symphony, Charlotte Philharmonic, and South Carolina Philharmonic. She is currently concertmaster of the Fort Dodge Area Symphony.
