Meg began her studies as a Suzuki violin student at the age of six. She was a student of Carol Sykes, who studied with Dr. Suzuki in Japan. She then went on to study at the Longy School of Music, as a student of Janet Packer, in the Young Performers program.

Meg holds a Bachelor of Violin Performance from Boston University where she studied with Bayla Keyes, and a Master of Music in Performance from New England Conservatory where she studied with Eric Rosenblith and MaryLou Speaker Churchill.

After completing her Masters, Meg became the Strings teacher for the Brookline Public Schools, where she taught for two years.  Meg completed her Suzuki Teacher Training in books 1-5 at the Ithaca College and Hartt Suzuki Institutes with Carrie Reuning-Hummel, Carol Smith, Vera McCoy Sulentic, Carol Sykes, Edmund Sprunger and Ed Kreitman. Meg taught Suzuki Violin at the Longy School of Music from 2004-2013.

Meg started her own studio in Jamaica Plain in 2013. The JP Suzuki Studio is a block from centre street in the center of Jamaica Plain.

Meg’s students have performed at Symphony Hall, the Childrens Museum, the May Fair in Harvard Square, played the National Anthem for the Boston Celtics, and perform at JP’s Thursday’s on the Lawn at the Loring Greenough house. You’ll also often find us busking to raise money for charity at JP Licks!
