Mary has been playing the violin for over 30 years. She started taking Suzuki lessons in Williamsport, PA at the age of 3. Throughout her young life, she attended Ithaca Suzuki Institute many summers and actively participated in many musical groups and events. She also attended Csehy Summer School of Music from 1994-1999.

Mary graduated from West Chester University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. During her time at WCU, she continued to take violin lessons, played in the WCU Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of various other musical ensembles including Women’s Chorus, the WCU Percussion Ensemble, and the Golden Rams Marching Band.

Mary holds certifications in New Jersey in both Elementary and Special Education. She previously taught in a public school setting in New Jersey for 10 years, but more recently has been at home raising her young children and teaching Suzuki violin part-time.

Mary completed Every Child Can training at Temple University in May 2016, Violin Unit 1 at Ithaca Suzuki Institute in July 2016, and Violin Unit 2 training at Ithaca Suzuki Institute in June 2017. Mary is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association. She enjoys working with children of all ages, and is especially interested in teaching young beginners. Mary has a home studio in Columbus, NJ, where she teaches weekly private lessons and monthly group classes.
