Marissa Winship

Marissa Winship is a multifaceted musician, performing and teaching up and down the West Coast. Her interests range from the operatic, as a member of the Portland Opera, to the avant-garde (a harmonics duet for viola and bass, who can resist?). Since completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music at Rice University, Marissa has performed throughout the Pacific Northwest with orchestras, musicals and even a Game of Thrones tour. In her violin and viola studio, Marissa balances a creative approach to the instrument with an expectation of excellence for all students. She focuses on healthy technique, informed by her upbringing and training in the Suzuki Method and a personal interest in bluegrass music and the O’Connor Method.
