Ms. Marilyn Becraft Dodson
Marilyn has been a Suzuki harp teacher for over fourteen years. She began studying the harp traditionally at age 7 after seeing harpists play at a Suzuki Celebration concert. While studying at BYU she became interested in the Suzuki method. She graduated in harp performance from Brigham Young University where she also had the opportunity to work in the International Harp Archives. As part of her work in the archives, Marilyn helped create an exhibit, Master Harpists of the 20th Century, which was displayed in the BYU Library. She also created a video about the archives which was shown at the Minneapolis-St. Paul AHS Conference. Marilyn loves being a part of organizing and participating in harp events of all kinds and helping her students learn and grow as they take part as well.
