Marie Cole (Cello, Music Mind Games & Early Childhood Music) has a B.M. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.M. from the University of Connecticut, both with an emphasis in cello performance. She has performed as guest principal cellist with the Blue Ridge Orchestra(NC) and the Frederick Symphony Orchestra(MD) as well as performing regularly with the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra(NC), Johnson City Symphony Orchestra(TN), Symphony of the Mountains(TN) and the Brevard Philharmonic(NC). Other ensembles she has performed with are the Asheville Symphony(NC), Greenville Symphony(SC), Alexandria Symphony(VA), Maryland Symphony(MD), Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra(CT), Hartford Festival Orchestra(CT).

Marie has been involved with Music Mind Games for the past ten years and enjoys sharing her knowledge of Music Mind Games with others. She has training in Unit 1, Unit 2 and the Workshop Teaching courses with Michiko Yurko, the creator of Music Mind Games. While living in the Washington, DC area, she helped with the ongoing development of the Music Mind Games products and games. She also has assisted Michiko with her Music Mind Games presentation at the 2008 MTNA conference. She has also had Suzuki Cello teacher training with Nancy Hair, Pamela Devenport, and Alice Vierra.

Marie has taught cello, Music Mind Games and early childhood music for over ten years at places such as Asheville Music and Arts(NC), Joyful Noise Community Music and Art Center(NC), St. Columba’s Nursery School(DC), Levine School of Music(DC & MD), Frederick Community College(MD), Beth Sholom Synagogue(MD), Cumberland Valley School of Music(PA), Washington Waldorf School(DC), Music Makers Academy(CT) and Kol Haverim Synagogue(CT). During the summer Marie teaches Music Mind Games and early childhood music classes at the Blue Ridge Suzuki String Camp. Other summer camp teaching experiences have been teaching Music Mind Games at the Joyful Noise Summer Music Day Camp(NC) and the Alexandria Suzuki Guitar Institute(VA). She currently resides in the Asheville area where she teaches lessons and classes at her own private studio and online as well as is the music teacher for Central United Methodist’s preschool program in downtown Asheville.
