Margaret Harwood is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with an M.A. in Cello Performance where she studied with Mr. Lee Fiser. As an active member in the orchestral, chamber music and solo presentation programs, she has become both a consummate performer and an effective mentor. She earned her B.S. from Roberts Wesleyan College in Cello Performance, She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was named as the 2010 recipient of the Presser Scholar Award. She was invited to participate in the 2011 Spoleto, Italy Music Festival where she studied with John Pegis of the Chicago Symphony. Margaret was a participant in the New York State Summer Orchestral School at Saratoga Springs where she was mentored in orchestral performance by the Philadelphia Symphony. She was a participant in the 2012 and 2013 seasons of the Lake George Music Festival. Margaret has also studied piano classically for most of her life. Her teachers have included, Ms. Diane Hellert and Dr. Michael Landrum. She enjoys sharing her love of music through teaching students both cello and piano and performing throughout the Capital District.
