Margaret Gilmore

Dr. Margaret Gilmore has played professionally in Europe, in the U.S.and in Mexico. She has taught in universities, public and private schools, and is a registered Suzuki cello teacher. She studied at the Juilliard School and the Muziek Lyceum in Amsterdam with Tibor deMachula, principal cello of the Concertgebouw. She has degrees from LSU, Rice University, and the University of Arizona. She currently performs with many groups including the Arizona Opera Orchestra, the Sterling String Quartet, Concert Artists of New England, Cameo Baroque, and leads the cello ensemble, Banish Misfortune in Hanover, NH. She has taught cello, orchestra and chamber music for over 40 years and currently lives in east-central Vermont, just across the Connecticut River from New Hampshire.
