Ms. Marcia Thumma

I have been teaching violin using the Suzuki method since 1994. Since that time I have completed teacher training through book 7 and taken numerous enrichment courses. I am also an avid fan of Scottish fiddling and frequently add a variety of Scottish fiddle tunes to the supplement the course work I offer. I attend regular Scottish fiddle meetings, jams, and workshops along the west coast to enhance my understanding of this wonderful music. I am also offering students more opportunities in bluegrass, using a blend of the Suzuki method, and the Mark O’Connor methodology to keep things interesting, and I enjoy attending bluegrass festivals and workshops as well.
