Dr. Maluh De Felice earned the Doctoral of Musical Arts in violin performance from the University of Miami, Coral Gables (2004), and both the Bachelor (1993) and the Master (1997) degrees in violin performance from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She has been teaching the violin through the Suzuki Method to children from age 3 all the way through college. Some of her former students are already professionals.

Dr. De Felice was the Orchestra and Music Director at Felix Varela Senior High School (2004-2006) and Violin Teacher at Miami-Dade College (2004-2005).

As violinist for ten years (1990-1999) of the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra, Dr. De Felice performed with internationally renowned soloists such as Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingos, Jose Carreras, Nelson Freire, Antonio Menezes and Jean Phillip Rampal. With this orchestra, she performed under the direction of some of the most acclaimed conductors of the 20th century, such as Kurt Masur.

Dr. De Felice was also a violinist of the Petrobras Pro-Musica Orchestra (1994-1999), the Brazilian National Symphony (1998-1999), the Rio de Janeiro Opera and Ballet Theatre (1994-1996), and the Brazilian Philharmonic Orchestra (1994).

Dr. De Felice’s doctoral dissertation title is Mindfulness Meditation: a New Tool for Understanding and Regulating Musical Performance Anxiety—an Affective Neuroscientific Perspective.
