Madeline Horrell is a cellist and teacher located in the Heights area of Houston. Originally from upstate New York, she grew up in the Suzuki program as a student of Christine Lowe-Demiecke at Ithaca Talent Education. She holds both a bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music education with a performance honors certificate from the Setnor School of Music at Syracuse University, where she studied with Caroline Stinson and Greg Wood. In addition to her private studio, she currently teaches middle school orchestra in Sheldon ISD, in a program she founded in 2014.

Madeline comes from a long line of teachers including her grandmother, Alison Swords, who was a Suzuki Violin teacher. She shares her grandmother’s passion for teaching young people, and like her, finds children to be the most interesting people on earth. “Every child can!”
