I am an enthusiastic music educator with a knack for making learning exciting and enjoyable. I am motivated by the belief that all children can be successful learners, and I prioritize students’ success as well as their holistic development. My favorite part of teaching is working with students, parents, colleagues, and administration to teach and motivate students.

I bring with me a wide array of instructional experience ranging from public, parochial and tribal school settings for ages two to eighteen. I am a multi-instrumentalist and choral musician who has performed in, taught, and/or directed ensembles ranging from concert choir to jazz band to Indonesian gamelan. I teach and perform regularly in southeast Wisconsin and northeast Illinois.

In the fall of 2020, I will begin pursuing my Master of Music (M.M.) degree at Northern Illinois University with an individualized specialization in world music. My studies will focus around world music pedagogy, combining my career in education with my passion for world music. I intend on researching and developing ways to incorporate world music into PK-12 instrumental, choral, and general music classrooms using both technological and non-technological means. I will also be pursuing graduate certificates in Latin American studies and social justice education.
